Frost Research Center to conduct economic impact study of short term rentals in the Park Township/Holland area

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Park Township, Michigan – Local nonprofit Park Township Neighbors (PTN) has engaged the Frost Center for Data and Research to conduct an economic impact study regarding short term rentals in the Holland area.

The Frost Center is a social science research center at Hope College that has conducted other local studies, including studies on the economic impact of Tulip Time.

An economic impact study generally attempts to determine the amount of income generated in an area due to the activity being studied. This income can affect area jobs and businesses.

“We engaged Hope College’s Frost Center because of their experience and excellent understanding of the community,” says PTN President Jeremy Allen. “We look forward to seeing the results of the study when it is finalized later this year.”

Area business owners, short term rental hosts, and guests will be contacted by the Frost Center for their input.

The study will provide valuable data regarding the economic impact short-term rentals have on the greater Holland area.

A significant portion of the cost of the study was contributed by the local, state, and national associations of Realtors.
